Little Tikes Academy is one of the few centers in Georgia with five State-Funded Pre-K classrooms. The Georgia Pre-k program was established in 1993 to provide Georgia’s four-year-old children with a high quality preschool experience. The goal of every Pre-k classroom is to provide our children with the learning and social experiences to prepare them for kindergarten.

The Georgia Pre-K program is successful in preparing children for school, by providing an opportunity for them to develop school readiness skills in an environment that encourages children to have fun while learning. An evaluation by Georgia State University found that children who attended prekindergaten had higher academic and social ratings by their kindergarten teachers than children who did not attend preschool program.

The school readiness goals for the Pre-K program are to provide a developmentally appropriate program emphasizing in language and literacy, math concepts, science, arts, physical development, and personal and social competence.

This program is available to children who have turned four years of age by September 1st of the current school year. Our Pre-K program follows the Gwinnett County school calendar. At Little Tikes, classes begin at 8:30 and end at 3:15. Before and after school care is available at an additional cost.
